Maine Health Care Advocacy Group Selected to Participate

in Non-Profit Day at State House

(Augusta)  Consumers for Affordable Health Care (CAHC), the largest consumer health care advocacy group in Maine, will participate in the 9th Annual Maine Non-Profit Day event at the State House on Thursday, February 2.  The event will take place from 8:30am-1pm in the Hall of Flags.  The Maine Association of Non-Profits (MANP) is sponsoring and hosting the event.

"This event is a prime opportunity to showcase a diverse group of non-profits from areas throughout the entire state," said CAHC Consumer Assistance Program Manager Jaime D'Errico. "Non-profits play an essential role in Maine's economy, not only as small businesses themselves, but by also providing vital services to Maine people and their communities.  We're sometimes the last resort to help prevent people from falling through society's cracks."

Joining the Portland-based MANP and CAHC, located in Augusta, at the event will be:

  • Alice James Poetry Cooperative, Inc. (Alice James Books), Farmington
  • Cobscook Community Learning Center, Trescott
  • Community Counseling Center, Portland
  • Frannie Peabody Center, Portland
  • Friends of Seguin Island Light Station, Bath
  • Maine Robotics, Orono
  • Mano en Mano, Milbridge
  • Natural Resources Council of Maine, Augusta
  • Operation Breaking Stereotypes, Orono
  • Spurwink, Portland
  • Trekkers, Tenants Harbor
