Check Out Wendell Potter on "207" tomorrow, FRIDAY at 7pm!

Health Care for Maine (HC4ME) held its first event yesterday, and we're happy to report, it was a smashing success!  CAHC is proud to be on the Steering Committee for this new Alliance and thanks all the HC4ME Steering Committee members who helped to organize the event, the presenters, endorsing organizations, and others who attended.  And, a very special thank you to our keynote speaker, Wendell Potter.

Wendell was able to speak to a few media outlets while he was here.  We wanted to make sure to quickly send you this information so you can share it with your networks:

  • Wendell's interview will appear on the news magazine show "207" on Friday Oct., 7th at 7pm (on your local NBC affiliate).  It will be posted online as well after it airs.
  • Check out coverage in the Bangor Daily News by Meg Haskell.
  • Wendell will also appear on State of the State (on your local Time Warner station) alongside CAHC Executive Director Joe Ditréand MECEP Executive Director Kit. St. John in the near future, and the show will be available via pod cast after it airs.
  • You can also listen to Wendell's full speech, coming soon to Speaking in Maine on MPBN.

Finally, be sure to read Wendell's assessment of the situation in Maine at The Center for Public Integrity:

With all of these changes, there is no doubt insurers that do business in the state will be able to achieve profit margins never before even imagined. Regular Mainers, on the other hand, are not going to fare nearly as well.

We look forward to many more collaborative efforts like this with HC4ME partners in the future!
