Director of Development and Communications

Consumers for Affordable Health Care Foundation seeks a Director of Development and Communications to work under the general direction of the Executive Director and in close cooperation with the Board of Directors to provide leadership and support for all aspects of the organization’s fundraising and communications efforts. The Director will be responsible for corporate and foundation grants, annual and major gifts, planned giving, special events, Board development, production of the annual report, newsletter and promotional materials, management of media relations and oversight of the website.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and successful experience in fundraising (particularly grant research and writing, individual donor fundraising and special event fundraising) and marketing and public relations. Excellent oral and written communication skills and outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills are also required. A demonstrated interest in working with an underserved population and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with community leaders, volunteers and diverse cultural and ethnic groups are preferred.
