Conference
Purpose
On June 13, 2003, the Maine Legislature enacted the Dirigo Health reform with an overwhelming bi-partisan majority in both houses. The goal of this reform is to address rising health care costs, improve quality of care, and provide increased access to health care coverage. However, the success of the reform efforts will be determined in their implementation, an implementation that must involve the cooperation of all stakeholders in the health care system. This conference will bring together consumers, small and large businesses, health care providers, insurers, academics, advocates, and policy makers to discuss the various opportunities and challenges that Maine faces as we work together to successfully implement the Dirigo Health reform. It serves as a venue for stakeholders to discuss how to work together to put collaborative solutions into practice and to stimulate united action as the state moves forward with controlling costs and improving quality and access to coverage.
